My Week in Sketches7:38 AM
Last week, my friend's three-year-old turned to me out of nowhere and told me she'd still like me when she's grown up ("gwown-up" with her adorable speech impediment.) It warmed my heart.
The next morning, I babysat that same little kiddo and her sister, and we played with Legos. A lot.
I got to go swimming up at Lake Arrowhead again last weekend, and I spent a good amount of time lying in the sun on the dock with my sketchbook. I'm trying to get as much color on my skin as I can before summer disappears.
After work, my roommate and I went for a hike. It was a tad alarming how easy the hike was for her and how it made me feel like I was going to throw up.
In the summer, Mondays are the only time my whole team is together at work.
And I like Mondays for that reason.
I got a haircut this week, and it was funny because I happened to be the last customer of the evening. All the other hairdressers (is that still what they're called?) had gone home for the night, so my girl and I just got to chat freely. Normally I dread haircut-small-talk, but it was more fun when it was just the two of us and I'm not self-conscious about 10 other people eavesdropping on our conversation.
... And my friend, Bonnie, came to visit me the next day. We had a good time reminiscing together and catching up. Made for a great end to my work day.
