Heartbreaking & Hopeful

7:51 AM

This is sort of a do-over of yesterday's post. Yesterday was me trying new things, and today is me illustrating the way I love most - with pen and ink! (Saying pen and ink is perhaps a little redundant, but I think it sounds classier than just "pen.") This is my favorite kind of art - just sketching. Doodles and lines and no colors. My favorite part of this drawing (the part that really puts the "wild" in life) is, of course, the jellyfish. What the heck is a jellyfish doing there? I can't explain it. There I was drawing leaves, minding my own business, and then suddenly I was drawing a jellyfish. I don't know where these things come from. I considered removing it after I scanned in the image, but I just couldn't. Life is also whimsical and funny and slightly-to-moderately-ridiculous on a daily basis. The jellyfish stays. Somehow I feel like it's the part of this drawing that represents me best.
